Corning shop features olive oils

CORNING — Crystal City Olive Oil has opened at 2 W. Market St. in Corning at the site of the former Simple Style clothing store.

Crystal City Olive Oil is a self-defined “tasting store,” where customers can sample varieties of olive oil from around the world.

Each customer’s olive oil order will be bottled on the spot. The store will feature a constantly changing variety of products showcases oils from Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Argentina, Chile and the United States.

The store’s inventory also includes balsamic vinegars, spices, herbs, food products and tasting dishes.

Wendy Oppenheim is the store’s owner. A grand opening celebration is slated for later this year.
